So basically Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart appeared on "le Grand Journal" on a French television channel called Canal + on December 8th 2008. I filmed it for your enjoyment and I mean no copyright infringement by putting it up. WOOHOO! : #19 - Most Viewed (Today) - France ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Translation underneath Interviewer: (talking about the story of Twilight) So you meet a dark and handsome guy called Edward Cullen who comes from a family just as strange as he is. Strangely enough the more you guys are attracted to each other the more he keeps him distance. Until the day he reveals his secret and then it starts to get dangerous Should we reveal the secret? Interviewer 2: oh yeah we can reveal the secret! The secret is Interviewer 1: Lets ask the audience! So whats his secret? Audience: A vampire! Interviewer 1: The film hasnt even come out yet and they know the answer! Robert: I think everyone knows Kristen: whats his secret hmm...I dont know you wanna let it out? (to rob) I dont know...it would be blowing his cover and everyone could get the hottest vampire in the world and that shouldnt happen Robert: Im a woman All laugh Interviewer 2: everyone knows hes a vampire heres the trailer Part 2 Interviewer 3: The last time we had this much hysteria on the show was for Interviewer 4: High school Musical Interviewer 3: Yeah High school Musical and Tokio Hotel (editors note: I snorted at that comment...so sorry lol) Audience: boo Interviewer 3: Yeah I know theyre a bit younger than you , especially Tokio Hotel, but its true there really is a phenomenon, even hysteria when you guys show up somewhere. Has your life changed since it started? Im guessing where ever you go its the same. Robert: umm...you get a lot of people screaming..its stressing (laughs), but I dont think Ive changed at all in my head. Its a little strange because you have to change your habits, but other than that its pretty much the same. Interviewer 2: Whats the charm that makes you fall in love with a vampire Kristen: Whats specific about falling in love with a vampire? Theres sort of no choice in the matter. Its literally a physiological need...if theyre sort of chemical compounds lined up then you cant escape. Interviewer 1: When they advertised the audition, for you rob, they called it the Ideal guy. Did you immediately think of yourself and say yes lets go! (editors note: Sorry for the cough/laugh) Rob: No, not at all. I put it off for about five months because I thought it was embarrassing to even turn up to the audition. I think they just got desperate and I was really the last guy they saw. They cast me the next day because they had no one else. Interviewer 2 : We have a question from Nicolas Canteloup Nicolas: its a forbidden love (mumbling in between english and french Rob + Kristen dont understand) Interviewer 2: The Twilight phenomenon is Huge! Interviewer 4: Something you need to understand is that it is a phenomenon, but its like the kids who were into High School Musical are now saying: Im more adult, im going to see twilight. Its not the same anymore ! When the movie came out the fans blew MTVs server, their names are most searched on google AND you got the ultimate consecration and honor, at least in my opinion, is that the creators of South Park wrote an episode about you, Twilight the day after Obama was elected and the crazy thing is that it came out a week after the movie. So were going to watch an extract of the episode...where he cant bite the girl he loves. Part 3: Interviewer 4: The thing about the south park episode is that every kid is fascinated by vampires now. Theres even a show called True Blood on HBO that has vampires. Why do you think the youth of America is fascinated by vampires? Robert: its a good question...I think a lot of young people dont feel like they belong in the society and a vampire is the ultimate oucast, being the parasite of society, an outsider. I think thats one of the reasons why girls go crazy and why theres so many stories about vampires right now I dont really know. Interviewer 2: Kristen what was the hardest scene to shoot? Kristen: umm I think the scene where she calls him out and says that she knows hes a vampire and that needs to be dealt with. Its very long. It starts in a very different way than it ends. It starts so dire and by the end they can breathe again. Its the first moment of honesty and the beginning of their relationship. It was really long. Interviewer 3: Is it true that when you promoted the film in New York a woman asked you to bite her? Robert: That is true yes. Thats happened many, many times. Interviewer 2: Miss France as well will ask you about that later. Thank you very much! Twilight comes out the 7th of January !
