Protest outside the Icelandic parliament, Alþingi, at Austurvöllur in Reykjavik on Saturday 13 December 2008. People were demonstrating for change, showing solidarity, and protesting against the government (including the PM Geir Haarde) and the central bank (including the governor David Oddsson). The protest started with 17 minutes silence, a minute for each year the current party has been in government.

Why do the riders hurt the Icelandic Horses like this? The Icelandic Horse is supposed to be a "natural" horse. But the riders force them into unnatural positions and frames and use severe equipment to try to "control" them. Why isn't there any *horsemanship*, particularly natural horsemanship, used by the icelandic-style riders?
